Only problem is, I have a secret. A secret so deep it’s pulling me in two different directions.

Now we’re 1,400 miles of memories and broken hearts. I just hope it’s not too late to put all the pieces back together again.

Review:

1.5 Stars

This was one very confusing and boring read for me. I kind of got the feeling I wouldn’t like it from the third chapter. It’s not very often I dislike both the heroine and hero, but unfortunately that was the case here.

Leylah has been married to Ryan for nine years and their marriage is rocky. Ryan is frequently on business trips and the communication between them is lacking. So after Leila’s best friend, Erin, downloads a dating app on her phone, she receives a message from a man named Roman. That’s where their story starts. She’s a bit unsure at first, wether to keep replying to him or not. But as Ryan keeps drifting away, she finds comfort in Roman’s messages. After some time, messaging back and forth and talking on the phone, they decide to finally meet.

I did have some problems with the whole story.
1.Ryan wasn’t a bad guy. He was only prioritising his work more than his wife. And having her chat on him didn’t feel right to me.
2.Leylah and Roman together didn’t do it for me.
3.I got so confused towards the ending. It felt like Ryan was now the hero of the story and Roman was just a side character.

So all in all, I didn’t quite enjoy this book.
But as I always say, this is only my thoughts on the book.

Copy of kiss the single life goodbye!

love you.png
Jill Shalvis had done it again! Archer Hunt was everything! This fucking book was everything. I loved every minute of it.

Elle Wheaton is a beautiful, young woman who loves her job, her friends and where she’s at. She’s the woman who’s always put together, had everyone following her orders with a snap of a finger.
But she wasn’t always like this. She came from a unbalanced home with a grifter mother. Elle and her sister, Morgan, wanted a better life, free of trouble. But Morgan had a hard time leaving trouble behind, and after coming clean to Elle that she had been involved in a jewelery heist, Elle says she’ll take care of it.

Anything for her and her sister to get out of there. But Morgan’s boyfriend, Lars, was anything but forgiving. Elle, being pinned to a wall, about to be beaten by her sister’s boyfriend, did not expect the police to barge in on a drug bust. She had a guardian angel. Archer Hunt. The rookie cop.

“Truthfully, she was the best thing in his life and he was a complete idiot if he let her walk away from him.”

Archer had been undercover when he first saw Elle and had risked his cover to get her out of the shitty place. Saving her had cost him everything. He had lost his job and his relationship with his cop father went down hill. Elle had been at the wrong place at the wrong time. He’d seen how weak, beaten, sad and fragile she’d been. Now years later, he owns Hunt Investigations, working in the same building as Elle, but they either ignore each other of argue like children.

Elle: I’m going to kiss you!
Archer: With tongue?
Elle: Kill you. I’m going to KILL you. Ducking autocorrect!

“Are you angry? Because we do some of our best naked work when you’re angry.”

I loved Archer the moment he appeared in the previous books. He was quiet, broody and all bad boy and I loved it. Elle was the complete opposite of him which made them so perfect for each other. I loved how even though Archer always protected and secretly cared for Elle. He was the real alpha man when it came to her and it was hot as hell. When these two got into bed together, I had to fan myself at the fire they created.

“I want in your life, Elle. All the way in.”

This is a must read and this one was the best one yet!

Synopsis:

(A standalone Heartbreaker Bay novella)

New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Heartbreaker Bay with a fun and festive holiday novella!

It’s Christmas Eve and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home to the family she hasn’t seen in years. Problem is, her only ride to Lake Tahoe comes in the form of the annoyingly handsome Max Stranton, and his big, goofy, lovable dog Carl.

Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but Rory’s out of options. She’s had a crush on Max since high school and she knows he’s attracted to her, too. But they have history… and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.

They’ve done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their past… and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.

Copy of kiss the single life goodbye!

That’s it? I want more! I need more of Max and Rory!

I’m so glad Rory and Max got their own book, my only wish was for it to be longer. Jill Shalvis is making me fall more in love with her writing and her books.

“Max caught her expression as he slid in behind the wheel. “What?” he asked.
“What what?” she asked.
“You’re smiling.”
“Is there a law against that?”
He put his truck in gear and pulled out into the street. “No, but you don’t usually aim it at me.”

Rory Andrews has been through hell and back. She ran away when she was seventeen and ended up in San Fransisco. Before she met her friend and boss, Willa, she’d been in a relationship with an abusive and obsessive man. Now, working in the South Bark Mutt, and having friends that love her, she’s finally happy where she’s at. The only thing she regrets is not going home to her family. But now it’s time. She’s ready to face them. The only problem now is how she’s going to get home in the stormy weather on christmas.

“I don’t need a ride home.”
A flash of wry humor slid in with all that sizzling heat. “Because you’d rather take two buses and a train than get into my ”

Max Stranton is going home for christmas. And Willa has asked him to drive Rory home. The problem? They have a bad past. And now he has to spend hours in a car with her and his dog, Carl. The road trip home doesn’t go as smoothly as he’d hoped. With the storm getting worse and roadblocks on the highway, they are forced to spend christmas together on the road.

I fell in love with Rory in the previous book. She was funny and loving just as she was strong. I knew I would fall in love with Max and Carl when I started this book. They were hot and funny and I couldn’t get enough of them.
This was one real good christmas read and it is definitely a must read for those who wants to read a short, sexy, christmas love story.

Copy of kiss the single life goodbye!

Oranges have essential vitamin contents, antioxidants, protein, water percentage, and fiber. These are necessary minerals that help in keep the nutrients in your body balanced.-12

This was my first book by Jill Shalvis and I can say with all honesty, she’s now on my top ten of favourite authors. This was everything I was looking for. It was funny, cute, sexy and more!

Willa Davis is the owner of the South Bark Mutt. She spends most of her time there caring for animals. She loves all her client’s and their pets, just as much as she loves her group of friends. She’s kind and caring to everyone around her, but when Keane comes knocking, she’s anything but loving. In high school, Willa had asked Keane to the dance and was stood up by the popular jock and that had cut deep. And now here he was. Looking all kinds of sexy.

Keane Winters doesn’t remember Willa. So when he stalks to South Bark Mutt, begging to board his great-aunt’s cat for the day, he is met with Willa’s attitude, and he’s left confused. He doesn’t understand why Willa seems irritated by him. After more meetings with the feisty redhead who cares so much for her friends and animals, he wants more. And he’s pretty sure she wants more too. But Keane doesn’t get attached while Willa gets attached easily.

“He shook his head in surprise. “I don’t get attached.”
She looked at him. “Ever?”
“There’s no place for it in my world.”

Willa and Keane gets closer thanks to his aunt’s cat, Petunia. As their friendship deepens, conversations become more flirtatious and feelings develop. But Keane has attachment issues and Willa doesn’t want to get hurt by Keane again, which causes confusion about their feelings to one another. Will they fight through their issues? Or will they both let go of each other?

“Listen to me, Willa, because I want to make something perfectly clear here.” He opened his eyes and held hers prisoner. “You’re the most unforgettable person I’ve ever met.”

This is one of those stories that will stay with me. It consumed me entirely. When I was done with the book, I looked around and was disappointed it wasn’t snowing outside and there were no christmas lights begging for attention and I can’t wait to re-read this gem on christmas.

“Then he lowered his head and brushed her mouth with his. And then—to torture them both—again.
Moaning, she dropped the mistletoe and tugged her hand free to grip the front of his shirt with two fists. She was still holding tight when he lifted his head.
“It’s the damn mistletoe,” she whispered.
He let out a low laugh. “Babe, it’s not the mistletoe”

This is a must read. And now especially, before the movie comes out in December. So turn off the lights, light up some candles and get lost in this sweet, cozy love story.

[ARC] Hot Stuff by Kim Karr

34757163.jpg

Synopsis:

He’s the newly drafted quarterback.
Hot. Arrogant. Too sexy for words.
Ready to score.

I’m an athletic intern, and the coach’s daughter.
Driven. Determined. Prepared to conquer the world.
Completely off-limits.

The NFL is full of rules. Rules I’ve never broken. Never challenged. Never even scratched–until the day Lucas Carrington crashes into my life with his hard body and I-don’t-give-a-f*ck attitude.

After I almost injure my father’s star player, I volunteer to make sure he’s in top shape. At first, it’s hell. I don’t like his cockiness, his easy smile. Don’t like the way he oozes sex. Or how his penetrating eyes follow me everywhere.

That doesn’t stop me from wanting him.  He’s meant to be a distraction–something to occupy my mind for these precious few remaining hot summer nights before I’m forced to leave football behind forever.

I know what we’re doing will lead nowhere good. I know we’re crossing the line. And I know my father will never understand.

None of that matters.

But maybe it should.

Rules aren’t meant to be broken.

Or are they?

She was pure temptation. The way she spoke. The way she moved. The way she laughed and made me laugh. What she did to me.

Lucas Carrington wants to play football and get the hell out of his hometown. Instead, he gets drafted to the Chicago Bears. His hometown team. Gillian Whitney, the coach’s daughter and an athletic intern for the Bears. She’s determined, strong headed, loves her job. Her meeting with the new team player does not go as expected. She accidentally injures Lucas and offers to help him.

Rules are broken. They’re forbidden lovers. Star player and the coach’s daughter.

❝ So are you in or out? ❞
Okay that sounded really dirty.
With the sexiest raised brow I’d ever seen, he said, ❝ In. I’m always in. ❞

I did not enjoy this one as much as I had hoped. It was a light, sport romance but, unfortunately, it didn’t do it for me. I was hoping for more jerk attitude from Lucas and I wanted Gillian to resist him in the beginning. It went to fast for my liking. But if you like a light, funny sport romance, where there’s an instant spark between the hero and heroine, this one may be for you.

[ARC] Forget you not by Harloe Rae

Synopsis:

Destiny is bogus and fate is fake.
Everything happens for a reason?
Whatever.
I gave up on my fairy tale years ago.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not settling for less.
All my energy gets poured into a job I love rather than dead end relationships.
Men aren’t even a blip on my radar these days.
Who needs them?
Except to scratch the occasional itch, I’m not interested in anything they have to offer.

If so-called Cupid ever comes knocking on my door, I’ll be waiting with my flying pig because happily ever after doesn’t exist.
I’ve become a jaded disbeliever and my main reason just sauntered into the bar.
Rowen Sworr is the only arrow that pierced my heart, and dammit, he stuck.

His random reappearance is a complicated twist from that meddling matchmaker I didn’t see coming…

Review:

DNF at 37%

This one was not for me. I tried to get into it and even skipped a chapter to see if it got better. It was too fast paced for me and I did not like the heroine at all. I will not be finishing this book.

They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what beautiful chaos it will be.
